There is an article in the New York Times about the growing tension between banks and the government about the TARP program.
The banks are unhappy about restrictions put on them, including pay restrictions, restrictions on how many foreign employees they have, etc. They are also worried about what might happen if they fail the stress tests. The result? They want to return the TARP money.
And they are begging for the Treasury to waive the fees. The delicious irony.
