The tide is turning

This is going to be really a short diary... I just want to draw attention to something that caught my eye.

Reading tomorrow's New York Times opinion page, there are three separate articles concerning torture and national security, Obama wanting to look forward but why he can't and shouldn't.

I first read Frank Rich's great article Obama Can’t Turn the Page on Bush.  It really is compelling.  Then there was the editorial Photographs and Kangaroo Courts.  More good stuff.  But while these are great, it was the last one that lead to the title of my diary.

It was Maureen Dowd's article, Cheney, Master of Pain.  Though it kind of meanders a little more than the other two in this full editorial onslaught, it ends with a statement that is really worth noting.

I used to agree with President Obama, that it was better to keep moving and focus on our myriad problems than wallow in the darkness of the past. But now I want a full accounting.

I think the tide is turning.
